Not every roof pitch is suitable for roof tiles. If the slope is too shallow, rainwater flows off more slowly, and during heavy rainfall the large volume of water cannot drain away quickly enough. Instead, it finds its way through any gaps, even between the tile overlaps. This is exactly what happened on this roof in Thornleigh.
After inspection, we recommended replacing the roof tiles with Colorbond, which the client willingly accepted. In addition, we also repaired the box gutter, as instead of the correctly sized downpipe, a much smaller one had been installed. This caused it to constantly overflow, which in turn led to leaks from the gutter.
